Foster Parents

O
ur Team shall identify and recruit responsible, trusted adults into becoming Foster Parents by adopting orphaned children within the same community. The adults shall be prudently vetted to ensure that their backgrounds have no police records or any other tarnishing past that may harm the welfare of the OVCs.

In order for the children to properly achieve the basic needs in life; housing, health care and education, Musa House strongly believes that a family based structure is most conducive for the growth and development of children into becoming happy, wealthy and well-adjusted responsible citizens later in life.

We aim to recruit Widows, Widowers, or single parents into the program; We intend to train and support them through Livelihood and Income Generating Activities (micro financing) that should allow them to better support an OVC, their children and themselves in the community.

Although we are primarily focused on supporting OVCs, we believe our work with prospective foster parent groups is not only crucial in their direct support to the children, but also in regenating the community. This is confirmed both by our baseline studies and wider research which demonstrates that in developing countries plagued by HIV/AIDS, support and work with women who have previously been seen as redundant and destitute following the death of husbands who have often been the main breadwinners of the household, can regenerate the community by enabling these women to participate and once again become fully active in the community.

Amazing Story

Granny RosaGranny breast feeds Grand Daughter

This is an amazing story of baby Jacqueline Awuor; her mum passed away when she was only 9 days old, her granny took her and being of such a tender age, all the food she knew was milk and so Granny Rosa started breastfeeding her. Amazingly, at her age (65) she produced milk which baby jacqueline has been suckling on for 3 years now.
